A few things are being shaken up at Fox and Family Guy.

For the first time since 2005, Family Guy will air new episodes on Wednesdays now instead of Sundays as it has for two decades.

Variety reports that this is just one of the big shifts coming up. The 2024-2025 lineup will include some newbies and familiar faces.

As for Family Guy, it will be its 23rd season. Despite the popularity and impressive years of airtime, it won't be on the Sunday block with The Simpsons, Universal Basic Guys, Krapopolis, and Bob's Burgers.

The animated comedy will also appear midseason, which is not what fans are used to. Additionally, The Great North and Grinsburg will appear later in the season.

THR reports that Fox Network president Michael Thorn said, “It's still a crucial part of our [schedule]. We'll give it a great relaunch for that part of our lineup, and we know that when it comes back on Sundays, it will resonate with our audience the way it always has.”

The move to Mondays also gives the new animated shows a fair shot with a massive NFL audience that tunes in primetime.

The Simpsons, Bob's Burgers, and Family Guy are all produced by Disney's 20th Television Animation. Fox Entertainment CEO Rob Wade says of the series' it produces, “We love them, and we have great relationships with the creators, and with Hulu and Disney as well. They need a broadcast window. They really benefit from being on Fox, and I think Disney recognizes that.”

Shows that are planning to be renewed at a later date in clude America's Most Wanted, Farmer Wants a Wife, Kitchen Nightmares, Snake Oil, So You Think You Can Dance, Stars on Mars, and We Are Family.

Wade added, “Since last year's Upfront, our industry has seen a massive market shift. And for us, that translates into massive opportunity. A catalyst to move us forward, as we transform Fox Entertainment into a dynamic media company for the future. To get there, we formed Fox Entertainment as an independent, right-sized company that's now ready and able to seize opportunity, invest and grow. Not by rebuilding where we were, but by creating something new to take advantage of today's entertainment playing field. Something unencumbered by the long-standing legacy frameworks that can weigh you down. Something where smart bets alongside innovative production models can make our shows cost effective, at no cost to the creative. And something that reflects the modern consumer and how they consume content.”
