Moore becomes our youngest player in Premier League history

Wed 15 May 2024, 16:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Mikey Moore became our youngest ever player to appear for us in the Premier League on Tuesday night when he stepped off the bench late on against Manchester City.

Replacing James Maddison in the second minute of added time in our 2-0 defeat to the Citizens at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for his professional debut, at the age of 16 years, nine months and three days, Mikey surpassed the previous record set by fellow substitute Dane Scarlett in February, 2021, who appeared against West Brom aged 16 years, 10 months and 14 days.

In doing so, the midfielder also took number 883 as part of our Legacy Numbers initiative.

A regular for our Under-18s this season, Mikey has been named on the substitutes bench for each of our last four Premier League games before making his debut in the clash with City.

A key part of our Under-18 and Under-17 Premier League Cup successes last term, the midfielder is the youngest player to make a competitive appearance for our Under-21s to date after he made his debut for Wayne Burnett's side 11 months ago against Manchester United.

This term, he has been involved in a staggering 22 goals (14 goals, eight assists) in just 12 appearances in the Under-18 Premier League.
