Let's venture back along the dusty trails in Texas when things were a bit more lawless.

The Fort Worth Five

You may know the "Fort Worth Five" by another name the were part of which was "The Wild Bunch". A different iteration were also known as "The Hole-In-The-Wall Gang" for the time they spent in Wyoming. This group was called the "Fort Worth Five" because that's where they joined up to put their talents together, and because they were so audacious that they actually sat down for a group picture. This photograph was then used by Pinkerton agents to put out wanted pictures of the game

You Know Two Of The Five

You may not have heard of The Fort Worth Five, but odds are you've heard of Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid. The two, who's names would live in infamy, joined up with Ben "Tall Texan" Patrick, Will "News" Carver, and Harvey "Kid Curry" Logan while chilling out in Fort Worth after a score.

There Were More

As mentioned before, the Fort Worth Five was just a subset of larger and or different versions of the gang. These were just the men who chose to be photographed together on this occasion. The actual "Wild Bunch" seems to have have been a core group of about ten outlaws, two of them women.

Let's Get Real

It's easy to think of this group in some romantic old west kind of way, but let's not forget, most, if not all were killers. They all were train and stagecoach robbers, horse and cattle thieves, and bank robbers, or accomplices to those crimes. One would hardly know it when they sat down, all dressed and dapper for the "Fort Worth Five" photo.
