Thousands of Super Mario fans are complaining that Nintendo is cancelling their orders
Fans might have to go in store to pick up their copies
ONE of Nintendo’s most popular games is getting a remake, and fans will be able to play the remake later this month.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is the most popular game in the Paper Mario series, and it will soon welcome a whole new generation of fans.

On its announcement, many people were excited to play a new version of a game from their youth, and rushed out to pre-order it.
However, some people’s pre-orders are being refunded, and both platforms claim it’s at Nintendo’s request.
Customers of both Walmart and Amazon in the US have reported having their pre-orders cancelled, with the same reasons being cited.
Emails sent out by Walmart read: “We know you were looking forward to purchasing Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Nintendo Switch) online.

“At this time, Nintendo will only be offering this item in stores.
“While your pre-order was cancelled, we expect to have this item in store on its release day, May 23, 2024. We hope you can stop in!”
Other online retailers still have pre-orders available for the upcoming Paper Mario game, so it has not been confirmed that this change is at the request of Nintendo.
Sometimes retailers send out online pre-orders early, to ensure that players have the game on its release date.

This means that players can occasionally get games before the release date and start posting spoilers.
It is possible that Nintendo is hoping to reduce the chance of this happening by preventing online sales.
