Is there plenty of fish in the sea? Looks like we’re about to find out, quite literally. Deion Sanders and Travis Hunter might have found the perfect addition to their fishing troupe! Of course, he would need to prove himself to Deion Sanders first.

Jeremiah Brown might have won Coach Prime’s heart on the gridiron to secure a spot in the Buffs team. But if he wants a spot on his fishing team, the linebacker still has a lot of work to do, especially after Travis Hunter’s remarks about Brown’s fishing skills in a YouTube video. For now, that spot on Sanders’ fishing troop lies only with Hunter, who impressed Deion Sanders a few months ago. Remember when the two-way star caught a big bass while fishing in Lake Prime?

Last December, Deion Sanders posted a video of his player on Instagram, which showed the scene above playing out. When Hunter retrieved the fish, Coach Prime exclaimed, “Oh my God! Oh, Lord Jesus!” With the fish weighing an “easy five-pounder,” Hunter was quite impressed with himself, even claiming it was the best fish anyone could’ve caught in Lake Prime. Accepting that challenge, Sanders wrote, “[Hunter] really thinks he can beat me fishing. I’m trying to be a good host, but tomorrow, it’s on!” Now, he’s got a challenge from his linebacker, Jeremiah Brown.

Brown discovered the waters of Colorado, tagging alongside Travis Hunter. In a video Hunter posted on his channel, the duo could be seen bass fishing, with Hunter even teaching Brown some cool tricks – ones that Brown wasn’t afraid to brag about in a subsequent video he made specifically for Deion Sanders. But it seemed like he applied those tricks to catch more than just fish. After all, Hunter did say, “JB always catching some bullsh*t.” Either way, the tricks were enough for the linebacker to gain confidence in his fishing, so much so that he went on to challenge the OG, Deion Sanders.

Showing off a massive fish he caught, Brown was basically hollering in the video. Prime being Prime, however, didn’t take a second to brush off Brown’s confidence with mere words. “I got some players who think they can outfish me!” Sanders wrote in his Instagram story accompanying the video. Good for him, Brown’s confidence wasn’t unshakable. Reposting Sanders’ story, Brown confidently claimed, “We can.” Although this may make it seem like Jeremiah Brown is new to the game – both fishing and challenging Coach Prime – he’s really not.

In fact, right after Deion Sanders posted that video of Hunter in December, the linebacker went for a fishing excursion himself. Posting a picture of himself with a big catch, he fired shots at not just Coach Prime but also his teammate. First, he addressed the two-way: “[Hunter], I m coming for ya.” After challenging him, Brown wrote, “[Sanders], just keep dreaming. It is a young man’s sport,” suggesting that Coach Prime wasn’t in their league.

It was a bold claim, considering the Colorado Buffs head coach has admitted in the past that if there were a sport other than football or baseball he could’ve been a pro at, it would be bass fishing. Did you know he was arrested once in the 90s for illegal fishing? That said, now that the war cry is out, will fans get a fishing competition between Sanders and the Hunter-Brown duo? Only time will tell. Brown is sure of one thing, though: his new fishing partner, Travis Hunter, would be on board to tease Sanders during their fishing trip.

During their fishing trip in the Colorado waters, Hunter also chipped in his jibe at Coach Prime. The two-way star first took his sweet time to walk Brown through his fishing process part by part, catching a massive fish, too. His statement that followed his hunt was what surprised everyone. “Coach Prime wants no smoke with us,” Hunter said in the video, potentially hinting at a matchup between the duo and Coach Prime.
