Police responded to a reported kidnapping in the 5500 block of North Austin Avenue at about 4:39 p.m. where a witness said they saw a woman and child were in an apartment before being forced into an SUV by two men, police said.

A mom and her child have been found safe after they were kidnapped Sunday in Jefferson Park.

Both victims were found safe, without injuries, police said Monday morning.

Earlier, police said they responded to a reported kidnapping in the 5500 block of North Austin Avenue about 4:39 p.m. Sunday, where a witness said they saw a woman and child being forced out of an apartment and into an SUV by two men, police said.

The SUV vehicle then left the area heading south.
