Two new businesses are opening at Gloucester Food Dock this week. Joining an already impressive line-up of businesses overlooking Victoria Basin at the Docks, both Strip Steak Bar and Elote will enhance the variety of cuisine already on offer at what is a top foodie destination for the city.

Strip Steak Bar boasts premium quality, rapidly served steak in a street food style from Thursday, May 23. Ross Sanders and chef Arthur Knights have worked together for over a decade and are the masterminds behind the award-winning steakhouse The Lazy Cow. Now they have come together again to showcase their skills from the newly opened Stroud Hotel to Gloucester Docks.

Hosting a menu of Black Angus strip steak served to your liking of juicy pink or cooked through, ‘cluckin’ good garlic buttered chicken wrap and beef dripping fries amongst a selection of mouthwatering sides and signature strip donuts.

Arthur said: “We offer both chicken and beef in a unique environment creating an experience of premium street food. There are no bookings, no bother and no bull! Just perfectly cooked steak, served rapidly – can’t wait to meat you soon!"

Elote is an all-day Mexican dining concept, due to open officially on Thursday as well. Lewis Spencer as a local chef will be introducing an authentic Mexican menu to the broadening mix already at the Food Dock.

The menu has been developed from traditional Mexican dishes, drawn from an admiration for the people and culture after Lewis’ travels through the region. It will feature dishes created from ingredients sourced directly from Mexican grocers, including crisp, fresh en salada, Tacqueria to Mexican street corn, also known as ‘elote’. From citrus cured fish to a daily brunch, Elote is described as "true authenticity." You will even find a coffee bar with a plant wall where you can purchase your own plants to take home.

The new openings go alongside previous announcements at the Food Dock. Currently other food and drink venues include Wholly Gelato, Bella Mia Pizza, Hop Kettle, Chuck, Our House, Hetty's Kitchen and Scandinavian Coffee Pod.
