Chelsea transfer news: Abramovich has Fabregas decision, Milan decide on Cahill

CESC FABREGAS will be allowed to leave Chelsea in January but only with the permission of the club's owner Roman Abramovich.

Gary Cahill, however, will definitely be allowed to leave the London club once the winter transfer window opens - but Milan will probably not be his destination.

Both players have had to endure frustrating spells on the substitutes bench since Maurizio Sarri's arrival in West London.

Chelsea's playing style has changed completely since the arrival of Sarri, who doesn't feel that two can be regular starters for his team.

Fabregas' contract expires in the summer and he could be allowed to leave for free if Abramovich decides not to sell the Spaniard and they cannot agree to an extension.

Cahill's contract is also up in the summer but the defender will be allowed to start looking for a new club from January 1 as the former England international is frustrated with his playing time.

Milan are said to be not overly interested in signing the 32-year-old, since they have Mattia Caldara and Mateo Musacchio returning to action soon.

That is according to Italian publication Calciomercato, who claim decisions on Fabregas and Cahill players will soon be made.

Cahill has gone public in recent months about his frustrations.

“Having been a big part of things for six years, I’m finding it difficult to deal with this situation,” he said.

“To learn a new way of defending and new ideas – I’m sure [Sarri] didn’t feel comfortable putting me in and so I fully expected to miss the start of the season.

"And we’ve not lost, so there’s no arguments from my point of view."

Chelsea: Cesc Fabregas says he'd 'love' to stay at the club

Midfielder Fabregas looked set to leave the club when Antonio Conte was in charge too, but the Spaniard battled his way back into contention.

The 31-year-old and Cahill have played huge parts in the recent success at Chelsea.

Fabregas joined from Barcelona in a £30m in the summer of 2014, while Cahill signed in January 2012 for £7m.

Both have won two Premier League title with the Blues, while the latter has also been a part of the club's historic Champions League triumph and two FA Cup final victories.
