POLICE are investigating after the occupants of a BMW involved in a crash reportedly fled the scene.
Two BMW vehicles were involved in the collision on Atherleigh Way, between the junctions at Kirkhall Lane and Lovers Lane, at around 10.30pm on Tuesday night (October 12).
The occupants of one of the cars made off from the scene it is understood.
Meanwhile, the driver of the other vehicle, a man in his 40s, was trapped and had to be cut out by fire and rescue officers.
He was then taken to hospital by ambulance.
Police confirmed they are investigating the incident.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "We were called just after 10.30pm, no arrests have been made as yet.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
A North West Ambulance spokesman added: "A man in his 40s was taken to hospital."
