CLASS A drugs with a street value of up to £6,000 were seized by police in Leigh.
Neighbourhood beat officers were conducting patrols on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal following reports of drug use and dealing.
A suspect, from Merseyside, was detained and subject to a stop and search under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
A large quantity of suspected Class A drugs estimated to have a street value of £4000 to £6000, along with a substantial amount of cash were recovered.
A man was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply and an investigation is on going.
