Manchester City playmaker, Kevin de Bruyne, has snubbed Chelsea’s Jorginho and named Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski as his favourite to win the 2021 Ballon d’ Or.

De Bruyne said this during a press conference on Monday ahead of Man City’s Champions League clash with Club Brugge on Tuesday evening.

Lewandowski was named among the 30-man nominees for the 2021 Ballon d’ Or.

The Polish striker will rival Jorginho, Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi, Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo and among others for the Ballon d’ Or.

“If I have to choose, I’m looking at the two-year period, so I would choose [Robert] Lewandowski for what he has done the last two years, goalscoring wise.

“He would be my pick,” De Bruyne said.

Lewandowski scored 75 goals in 60 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern Munich since the 2019/20 season.

The winner for this year’s Ballon’d Or will be announced on November 29.
