Alexandre Lacazette saved the day for Arsenal against Crystal Palace as his last-minute strike salvaged a 2-2 draw at the Emirates on Monday evening.
The Frenchman, 30, doesn't deliver enough for manager Mikel Arteta but remains a proven goalscorer and a player the Gunners will struggle to replace.
Lacazette's existing deal expires in June and reports suggest he's not interested in putting pen to paper on a contract extension.
Much was expected of the striker when Arsenal paid Lyon a club record £46.5million in July 2017 but the move hasn't worked out as hoped.
Previous boss Arsene Wenger said on signing him: "He is a guy who is a great addition for us and someone who will help us challenge at the top level this season."
Lacazette was prolific during his final three seasons in France, scoring 76 goals in 97 Ligue 1 appearances, but hasn't replicated that form in England.
He's often played a supporting role to captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - signed just six months after his arrival - starting 97 Premier League games in his first four seasons.
Nevertheless, Lacazette remains a potent finisher. After his strike against Palace, the 16-cap international now has 68 goals for Arsenal.
He's also found the back of the net at least 17 times in all competitions in three of his previous four seasons at the Emirates - a decent record by anyone's standards.
Discussing Lacazette after the Palace game, Arteta said: "He fights for every ball and he transmitted some belief and energy to the crowd when he came on."
And Arsenal will struggle to replace his goals if he leaves in the summer or they decide to cash in on him in January.
Rumours suggest the Gunners are interested in replacing Lacazette with either Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin, 24, or Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins, 25.
Both strikers have delivered in Premier League but neither will come cheap. Arsenal will perhaps need to pay another £46.5m - and probably more - if Lacazette departs.
Whether or not he decides to go, the experienced striker still wants to break into the team and help the Gunners succeed. He is yet to start a league game this term.
Lacazette told Sky Sports after the Palace draw: "I know I need to work hard to get some minutes and I try to enjoy as much as I can when I am on the pitch.
"He [Arteta] told us when we play well the fans are with us. This is what I tried to bring. When the fans are with us it gives us players energy. We need to give them what they want.
"We showed we have character. Even when we are down we don't give up."

Arsenal have scored just seven in the Premier League this season, the same amount as Watford and Leeds - and three fewer than Newcastle.
Arteta needs more goals from his team and may decide to turn to Lacazette for the game against Villa at the Emirates on Friday evening.
The striker could well be on his way out of North London - but that doesn't mean the Arsenal boss shouldn't use him while he can.
