Joao Felix overlooked Roberto Firmino when giving his thoughts on Liverpool 's front-three.

The Atletico Madrid star will face off against the Reds on Tuesday evening in Spain for a Champions League match, kicking off at 8pm.

Jurgen Klopp and co sit two points ahead of Diego Simeone 's side in Group B, returning to the Wanda Metropolitano for the first time since lifting their sixth European Cup there in June 2019.

And forward Firmino, who scored a hat-trick against Watford on Saturday, will have a point to prove, omitted by Felix when asked about Liverpool's forward line as he instead included Portugal team-mate Diego Jota.

"We expect a very strong team. What we all know," the 21-year-old, who was bought by reigning La Liga champions for £106million from Benfica in 2019, told ¡Qué Golazo! and CBS Sports.

"It's Liverpool. They have a great team, especially their attack, it is great, but we are prepared for them and we will do everything possible to win.

" Mohamed Salah is dangerous, Sadio Mane is dangerous. Jota is dangerous.

"In the backline, they are dangerous too so it will be a difficult game."

Felix added: "The pressure that they put on can maybe give us a lot of space to play, but maybe not.

"We just need to be prepared for both situations."

Manager Simeone had similar praise pre-match, admitting the Reds are "very difficult" to play against despite their victory over Klopp and co in a 2020 round-of-16 clash by winning both legs.

" Chelsea, [Manchester] City, Liverpool are all fantastic but watching Liverpool is a real pleasure," the Argentine stated.

"They press high, play a high line, they have no fear of leaving spaces at the back.

"They have very quick players to go on the break.

"With [Virgil] van Dijk now [back from injury] they have improved their solidity in defence.

"I don't expect anything other than a team who will make things very difficult for us.

"We will try and find a way to hurt them, we need to match their intensity and will look to create our own chances."

In his press conference, Klopp gave a less than glowing opinion on his opposite number's organised and more defence-focussed style of play, but noted he still thinks Simeone is doing "absolutely everything right" in the Spanish capital.

"He is the current Spanish champion. Very successful," the German declared.

"He has a bunch of world-class players, keeps them on their toes, they fight with all they have for their lives."

"That says a lot about the quality of Diego so I couldn't respect more what they do.

"Do I like it? Not too much but that is normal because I prefer a different kind of football. That's me.

"Other coaches prefer different styles of football.

"Nobody has to like it, it just has to be successful and that is what Atletico is for sure."
