Eid El Maulud: Gov Ortom felicitates with Muslims

Benus State Governor, Samuel Ortom has felicitated with the Muslim in the State on the occasion of Eid El Maulud celebration which marks the birth of Prophet Mohammed.

Governor Ortom charged the Muslim Community in the State to use the celebration of the Eid El Maulud to pray for the peace, security and economic growth of the country.

His message was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by Acting Chief Press Secretary, Nathaniel Ikyur.

The Governor also thanked the Muslim Community in the State for their continued support and cooperation, and tasked them to continue to respect the laws in force in the State.

He assured them that his administration will continue to uphold the religious rights of every citizen and provide enabling environment for the sustenance of peace and harmony amongst all those living in the state.

The Governor said he is happy that Benue is free from religious and political crises and said his administration is committed to securing the lives of its citizens.

The Governor enjoined Muslims in the State to offer special prayers for peace in the State in particularly, and in the nation in general in the face of the current security challenges in different parts of the country.

Governor Ortom reiterated the irrevocable commitment of his administration in the maintenance of law and order as the government had in collaboration with security agencies taken all the necessary measures to ensure the safety of lives and property of the residents of the State.
