The Conference of Benue Journalists (CBJ) has enjoined the government and security agencies in the country to use their professionalism to identify the location of the missing reporter of Vanguard Newspapers, Mr Tordue Salem.

The President of the group, Mr Emmanuel Anule, in a statement made available to DAILY POST, noted that Mr Tordue Salem, who covers the House of Representatives had not been seen and located since last Wednesday.

He lamented that the case of the missing reporter was a call on all security agencies in the country to exercise their professionalism of protecting lives and properties.

According to the statement, “Like every other citizen, journalists in Abuja and indeed the country at large, require full protection while going about their lawful duties of informing members of the public without fear of molestation, intimidation, and harassment.”

He said they were worried over the mysterious disappearance of their colleague, an adult.

The group called on journalists and family members of the missing reporter, Salem to be prayerful and remain calm as security agencies continue to work to establish his whereabouts and ensure his release and safe return.
