  • This means Nigeria is avoiding these 4 countries in the final 2-legged round of the WCQ. The SE will be paired with any of Cameroun, Ghana, Mali, DRC or Egypt. No easy opponents.

I really hope the SE will up their game cos we barely scraped through the first round. We won all 3 away matches, but technically, 2 were on neutral grounds and not away matches (We played in Cameroun against CAR and in Morocco against Liberia). So there was no home advantage for those countries.

Also in the win against CV away, we had a fortuitous own goal – and couldn’t repeat the win at home. In fact, we recorded only 1 win, like at 1 and drew 1. Even Rohr should be honest with himself if that was impressive. And he’s always ready to provide an excuse, brush aside and gloss over poor results as no big deal. He won’t hesitate to do the same if we fall by the way side in the 2nd round.

Even if Rohr refuses to resign cos he wants to be sacked to receive a hefty cashout, no wahala. NFF should please bundle out Yobo, Alloy Agu and Salisu and replace them with solid assistants like Amunike, Finidi and Ikeme – persuade them if possible to rescue our Qatar qualification plans I believe their input will be visible to all with a more convincing playing style, pattern, purpisefulness and forcefulness on the pitch.

Guys it is Dare after all. Everything points to Dare. From the way things are going we might even get banned by FIFA for interference. NFF will submit a report to the sports ministry and the ministry will persuade the federal government to use the tax payers money our oil money to pay off Rohr. Lmao!! Let’s if Buhari or Osinbanjo will agree to that dumb move. Lmao!! Nigeria we hail theeee!

    • There is no point in sacking the coach now, however dissatisfied we may be with Rohr. Who would not like to eat the fruit of his labor? If he qualifies Nigeria to the world cup, he should take the team to the world cup. The Nigerian team may look shaky but we definitely can get past Congo DR, Mali, and Cameroun. Egypt and Ghana (because it’s always a regional derby) is anybody’s game.

Sacking Rohr now will bring more instability to the team than the good we all want. So for the sake of stability and unity of the team, Rohr should be allowed to complete the qualifiers

  • Typically, many Nigerians lack objectivity and are very emotional in their judgement, without looking critically at situations. A technical crew is not a one-man crew. Let us assume Rohr is sacked. Is the NFF willing to remove all the empty heads that presently surround him in the technical crew?

I have absolutely nothing against NFF removing Rohr as long as they put someone better there. The Rohr many of them are insulting is even more patriotic than many charlatans calling for his head. Many of our notable ex footballers have been there. The seat was too hot for them and they failed woefully. Sometimes their failure was due to their incompetence and sometimes due to Naija factors. That is the same seat Rohr is occupying and still manages to get results. They will owe him months of salary without paying. They will owe players arrears of bonuses. And yet they have the audacity to pretend as if nothing is wrong. NFF is more culpable than Rohr in all these problems. After sacking Rohr, who will sack NFF?

Until we resolve our real issues it is certain that we are living in denial. Things will never change until we first put our house in order. Nigerians need to stop living in a fool’s paradise. Is it Rohr that destroyed all our age-grade teams? Even Super Falcons that were dominating Africa are presently struggling to make a mark. Is it Rohr that is taking our matches to some glorified high school pitches when we have better pitches?

Is Rohr the best for us? I believe definitely not! But will sacking him solve our problems? I seriously doubt it. Does it make sense sacking him now. Sure it does not. Does Rohr deserve that heavy pay out if he was sacked. Definitely yes! Truth be told, before things started turning out bad, he has done remarkably well. And the results are there for all to see. NFF is free to sack him but they should not moan nor whine regarding his payout.

One thing most of our coaches have no been able to achieve is unity in the team. Rohr has been good with this. Even when players are owed large arrears of bonuses, under him sanity still prevailed. That attribute is invaluable and that is the benefit of old age. However, his judgement sometimes do not appear to be spot on. NFF should have gotten a capable assistant for him regarding more technical input. But what did they do? They brought Yobo in. Who is our goalkeeper trainer? Aloy Agu! Rohr himself did not help matter anyways. Of all the people in the world who could ha e been useful to him he asked for Salisu to come back.

The truth is that Rohr’s problem became complicated because he is surrounded by a bunch of incompetent crew. And Rohr dug his own grave further when he asked for Salisu to come back. Rohr is not our biggest problem. Bring any good coach into this messed up system and either of these two things will happen. Even if the new coach performs well initially, After one or maximum of 2 years, the coach will either resign out of frustrations or things will start going southward again.

I hear say Nigerian politicians are jostling up to coach the super eagles, as good as Obama was, is, he will fail in nigeria whether as a coach or leader. Obama is not even corrupt. Sunday Dare could be on the verge of a huge error that’s likely to tarnish all he has lived for as a govt personnel.

Well said, “who will sack nff”. You are right nff problem is bigger than Nigeria football, in short anything managed by government is a mess already

How many people can achieve the record Rohr has since he came in as our National team coach? Worse is even our local politics that’s intertwined with this beautiful game in Nigeria. You can bring in Your Scolari, Klopp or any best coach in the world, our circumstances will make it difficult for the person to even get near to what Rohr has

  • Nigeria should please go for a foreign coach. Do not make the mistake of going for the likes of Eguavoen, Amuneke or any other local Nigerian coach as they are not currently good enough to handle the Super Eagles. Nigeria is not Tanzania national team. Since they have decided to do away with Rohr, the NFF should go for a technical and sound Serbian or other East European coach who can introduce nice tactical systems to the Super Eagles for the world cup playoffs and AFCON tournament ahead. Thanks

  • A serious minded country would have ended this hullabaloo immediately after the match on Tuesday but guess what it’s very glaring that those who are managing our football did not have sense. They thought Rohr will walk away or wouldn’t hit the target they set for him in the contract hence they put humongous amount as compensation should they terminate the contract by themselves. Now the poor man beat them all to their game and they are now running from pillars to posts simply to sack a person they hired. Can you see that this man called Rohr is more brave than all those coconut heads put together in that NFF even their Legal adviser as well. Though this sports minister called himself a lawyer too? Pay him off as agreed in the contract and let him go that is all the man is asking for. Ghana,South Africa, Egypt changed coach recently and there wasn’t all these noise. Dare why? NFF why? Anti Rohr why?? People that are doing like this can they afford a world class coach as the fans are asking oh Uncle Stege said make then go locallol
