Angela visited pupils at Spring Brook Upper School in Failsworth to take part in a Q&A with members of the student council.

Spring Brook is a school for Key Stage 3 children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. The newly formed council are currently learning about democracy and the political system in the UK.

The girls and boys asked Angela about how she got into politics, what she would be doing if she wasn’t an MP and what life is like in Westminster.

Angela said: “School visits are the best bit of my job and it was great to meet the pupils at Spring Brook and hear their thoughts on current affairs. They asked me some great questions and it’s wonderful to see some of my youngest constituents taking such a keen interest in politics.”

Stella Power, teacher and curriculum leader at Spring Brook said: “It was really inspiring for our pupils to hear Angela’s story of how she ended up doing the job she does today. She really helped politics come to life and gave pupils a better understanding of how they can get involved and make change happen.”
