NCB recovers 90 packets of marijuana at Mundra port in Gujarat

The Narcotics Control Bureau has recovered 90 packets of American marijuana from Mundra Port in Gujarat.

The Narcotics Control Bureau has recovered 90 packets of American marijuana from Mundra Port owned by the Adani Group in Gujarat.

The drugs were in a container hidden in a car and were allegedly being taken to Sonepat in Haryana. The drug container had the flag of Malta on it.

Central investigation agencies are now keeping an eye out on the sea route via Kutch in Gujarat being used for smuggling of drugs.

SEPTEMBER CASE

Earlier, in September 2021, 2,988.21 kilograms of narcotic substance (heroin) were seized at Mundra Port.

In December, the NIA arrested an Afghan national in connection with the seizure. Sobhan Aryanfar, 28, was a resident of Delhi's Neb Sarai area, an official had said. The agency had arrested seven accused in the case before Sobhan Aryanfar.
