Oliver Anderson is Environment and Climate Change Minister Steven Guilbeault’s new director of communications, after holding the same position in Agriculture and Agri-Food Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau&#8217;s office since December 2019.
Before that, he&#8217;d been a senior communications and policy adviser for then-Agriculture minister Lawrence MacAulay since February 2016.
Anderson takes over from Sabrina Kim, who left in December 2021 to join National Defence Minister Anita Anand as her director of communications and issues management, <a href="https://ipolitics.ca/2022/01/06/hill-movers-staff-announcements-during-holiday-break/">as previously reported by iPolitics</a>.

Melissa George has been a policy adviser at National Defence since January, after working as a human-resources adviser in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) from May 2020 to January 2022.
Lhori Webster has been a policy adviser in the PMO, also since January. Two years before that, she held the same position in the office of former Health minister Patty Hajdu, then of current Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos. She also worked for the Liberal party during the 2021 federal election.
Last week, Reem Sheet <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/posts/reemsheet_after-thousands-of-doors-knocked-two-federal-activity-6904482912343773184-Iw60">took to LinkedIn to announce her departure</a> from politics. Most recently, she was an adviser for issues management and parliamentary affairs for Labour Minister Seamus O’Regan. She began as an intern in April 2020, when Filomena Tassi held the Labour portfolio. She also worked on Liberal-campaign management from 2019 to 2021.
Elsewhere on the Hill, Elizabeth Davidson <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/posts/elizabeth-davidson-7b869864_many-years-ago-i-had-the-chance-to-speak-activity-6900439474157756416-2ls-">is the new director of communications for Helena Jaczek</a>, minister of Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario. Before this, Davidson was an executive assistant in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from April 2020 to July 20201, and a senior adviser for communications and policy to Toronto city councillor John Filion from June to December 2021.
Finally, two staffers on the Hill announced job opportunities on LinkedIn this week.
Kelly Wilhelm, chief of staff to Sport Minister Pascale St-Onge, <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/posts/kelly-wilhelm-41b7093_embauche-hiring-activity-6906729901576060928-TH3_">is looking for an executive assistant</a> for her and St-Onge.
And Matthew Pollesel, director of parliamentary affairs for Official Languages Minister Ginette Petitpas Taylor, <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/posts/matthewpollesel_embauche-hiring-activity-6904880824618229760-s1-3">is in need of a parliamentary assistant</a>.
