Firing Moussa Dembele could be set for a money-spinning summer move - with Celtic set to cash in if one of Europe's top clubs pounce.

The Lyon striker has been back at his best form this season and finished the season on a red hot scoring run.

Thirteen goals in his final 11 league games saw the Ligue 1 club finish the season strongly.

It's seen Dembele bounce back from a disappointing 2020/21 and is likely to have put himself back in the crosshairs of the likes of Manchester United and Barcelona - who have been linked previously and are reportedly on the hunt for strikers this summer.

The problem from Lyon's perspective is that Dembele will enter the final year on his contract next season so they could be forced to sell or risk losing him for free.

If they do cash in, they are likely to pocket a substantial fee which will see Celtic bank up to 15 per cent of the profit Lyon make.

That means Lyon would keep the first £20million and the Hoops would take home a share of the rest.

If the French club can attain the £40m they were looking for previously, then around £3m would head straight back to Parkhead.

It could boost Ange Postecoglou's transfer coffers as he gears up for a title defence and a crack at the Champions League.

The Hoops go straight into the group stage after winning the Premiership although they won't be facing Lyon there as they finished 8th despite their late season resurgence.
