Loose Women's Ruth Langsford thought that Phillip Schofield referred to her and her cohorts as dogs on the show.

This Morning presenters Phillip and Holy Willoughby were linking to Loose Women when Ruth and her peers misunderstood what he was talking about and later admitted they thought he was insulting them.

Phillip was responding to Holly who had said: "Right still to come... he's got the paw-fect Jubilee accessories. Gyles [Brandreth] is back to show you how our dog can take part in the celebrations too.

Phillip then said "On the subject of well-dressed mutts, in just a moment we are joined by...Sweep and Sooty as well to hear about their exciting new project."

"First though, it's time to find out what the Loose Women are talking about this lunch time."

Eamonn Holmes, seen here with wife Ruth Langsford, has spoken out about Phillip Schofield's attitude

Holly added: "There they are, hi Ruth!"

Ruth and her other Loose women panellists Judi Love, Denise Welch and Kéllé Bryan had been waiting to be introduced and could be heard laughing away in the background.

Ruth said on camera: "I'm so sorry, when Phillip said, 'talking of well dressed mutts', we all went, 'sorry, sorry!'"

Phillip who couldn't stop laughing began clapping with delight and Ruth joked: "Right, coming up with us well dressed mutts," before woofing for the camera.

The misunderstanding came after Ruth's husband Eamonn Holmes branded Phil “passive-aggressive” and claimed he is “renowned for snubbing people.”
