A bus strike affecting services in Trafford could come to an end this week as the members of two unions are to be balloted on an offer from the operator.

Talks between Arriva and representatives from Unite and GMB have broken down multiple times since drivers took to the picket line on July 20.

On Friday, however, more than three weeks since the start of the bus strike, the unions agreed to put an offer from the operator to their members.

Today, Monday, and tomorrow, Tuesday, drivers are to be balloted on whether to accept the proposal.

If accepted, the bus strike could come to an end and services could resume as soon as this Wednesday.

A spokesperson for Arriva said: "Following re-convened pay negotiations, Arriva has tabled an improved offer that has enabled Unite and GMB to ballot members on this offer. The ballot will take place on Monday and Tuesday.

"All parties are working hard to bring the industrial action to a conclusion with the desire to resume services on Wednesday."

In the meantime, these are the services affected in Trafford. An asterisk means some of the services are covered by Goodwins.
