A day of celebration and joy for students at The Sixth Form Bolton, who achieved an amazing 99% A-level pass rate, despite covid disruption.

Principal Stuart Merrills expressed his overwhelming sense of pride in the dedication and work ethic of the year group, who having missed out on GCSEs had not sat a formal exam since Year Six.

He said:

“They’ve had an absolutely torrid time for two years of their education, and they’ve had to show tremendous commitment and hard work in their studies.

“On results days like this you see that it was all worthwhile - they’ve all achieved what they wanted to achieve, and they’re going to move on to the next exciting steps in their lives.”

He added:

“For a town like Bolton, it’s brilliant to be able to celebrate the success of so many of our young people, because they need those chances in life, those abilities to move forward and push on, and to secure their dreams of the future.”
