OG app promises an ad-free Instagram experience, promising to bring back its users to how it was back then.

But the new suggestion-free IG got booted out from the Apple App Store of iOS users shortly after it debuted.

Ad-Free Instagram OG App

As per the latest news story by Tech Crunch, Instagram users have started to air out their frustration with the transformation of what started to be a mere photo-sharing app.

No less than one of the most popular Instagram users, Kim Kardashian, has criticized the Meta-owned social media.

While IG started as a place to post photos for your followers to see, it has drastically evolved. One of the biggest additions to the platform was its Stories feature, a copycat of Snapchat.

But this time, Meta is stuffing more features in the said app. It now supports NFTs, and the tech giant gave it an algorithmic feed. Not to mention that Instagram also gained a TikTok-like feature that goes by the name Reels.

Given all these new additions, Meta is suggesting to its users more content from people that they don't actually know. It is essentially following the route TikTok pursued.

And on top of the heavy suggestions, the photo and video sharing app also include tons of ads.

But this time, an Instagram client, OG App, promises to cut off all of these overwhelming additions. It vows to provide its users with an ad-free and suggestion-free feed.

Tech Crunch notes that OG App is not a new social media platform like how BeReal is. Instead, it lets IG users enjoy an ad-free experience.

To do so, Insta users could simply sign in to their accounts on the OG App. And from there, they could start doom scrolling on their feeds without any ads and suggestions.

According to a recent report by 9to5 Mac, the OG App for iOS garnered roughly 10,000 downloads. In turn, it easily snatched the 50th spot in the top most downloaded apps in the Apple App Store.

Apple Kicks Outs OG App from the App Store

However, shortly after OG App gained some traction, its developers announced that Apple has booted it out from its official app marketplace.

The OG App devs confirmed in its recent tweet that Apple has taken down its listing from the App Store. The move prevents iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch users from downloading and installing the ad-free Instagram client.

It is still unclear if Meta asked the iPhone maker to kick out the new Insta client.
