Married at First Sight viewers were concerned Matt was potentially being “fake” after his speech about how he loved Whitney.

During tonight's episode of the Channel 4 dating show the couple revealed that they dropped the L bomb after little more than a week of dating.

Unlike the other married couples, Matt and Whitney have only just started dating after coupling up midway through the process in an unexpected turn of events.

Despite his explosive start to his relationship Matt voiced his concerns about the other couples, insisting that they are “A complete fabrication.”

Gobsmacked viewers couldn’t get over the fact the couple have already expressed their love for each other and claimed the barber can’t comment on the other couples relationship after the dramatic start to his.

@chloeelou_x Tweeted: “WHY IS MATT TELLING OTHER PEOPLE THEIR RELATIONSHIP IS ‘A COMPLETE FABRICATION’ ??? Why does he feel like he can pipe up when he’s just a fake himself #MAFSUK.”

@WhiskersNMeows said: “The irony of Matt saying ANYONE'S relationship is a fabrication is hilarious! Muppet. #MAFSUK.”

@Toms_Yorkshire commented: “Isn't that just the biggest projection Matt telling someone else their relationships a complete fabrication #MAFSUK.”

@BernadetteLoins wrote: “Whitney constantly berated Duka for being fake but that speech from Matt about how much he loves her was the fakest thing ive seen all series #MAFSUK.”

@shampesto said: “Who is Matt to call ANYONES relationships fabrication #MAFSUK.” While @sucessfulselena added: “Whitney & Matt in love after 3 weeks give me a break #mafsuk.”

But others have backed Matt, arguing that he should be given a chance with Whitney and the benefit of the doubt.

In an interview with YorkshireLive, Matt explained how he 'fell in love' with Whitney and spoke about how he and Gemma 'laughed' about the drama later.

Matt said: "So what you are seeing on camera is a frustrated man, not an angry man," said Matt. "Being branded toxic and aggressive when that is not me is upsetting. It is a lie.

"Online, I get a lot of negativity but in person, a lot of people tell me how well I've handled myself. The positive comments make me feel great, but the people who don't know me, judging me - it's really upsetting."
