A photo of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tying mother Sonia’s shoelaces during the Bharat Jodo Yatra is being widely shared on the internet. The moment was captured on camera when the Congress chief joined Rahul Gandhi as the Bharat Jodo Yatra resumed in Karnataka’s Mandya district on Thursday (October 6).

In the viral photo, Rahul Gandhi can be seen carefully trying his mother’s shoelaces as others take a pause to witness the mother-son moment.

Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor took to Twitter and shared the emotional photograph, writing, "Even if mothers breathe, they pray for their children. Mothers do not break or change."

Party chief Sonia Gandhi, who was abroad for medical check-ups, reached Karnataka to take part in the Bharat Jodo Yatra on Monday. Sonia Gandhi flew to Madikeri in Coorg and stayed at a private resort.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi finished the Mysuru stretch of the campaign and flew to Madikeri to meet mother Sonia Gandhi. They spent two days in Coorg.

The Congress leaders visited the Kabini forest reserve Kadegadde on Wednesday. They also went for a backwater forest safari. They were accompanied by local MLA Anil Chikkamadu. The party chief planted a sapling at a plantation on Thursday morning near the Kabini backwater before she took off to join the foot march.
