Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan slams RSS Chief for 'hate speech', says no need for population control
For years, the Sangh Parivar has been spreading the lie that Hindus will become a minority in the near future and RSS is using that weapon again, Pinarayi Vijayan said in a Facebook post.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan hits out at Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat regarding his speech on community-based population imbalance. The Chief Minister, in a Facebook post, said that it's a planned move to open the nest of communal hatred in the country.
Further in his post, Vijayan said that the speech was not based on facts and figures and there has been a larger rate of decline in the growth of the Muslim population when compared to the Hindu population. CM added that such lies are spreading, keeping in mind the upcoming elections.

The RSS chief's statement that there is a religious imbalance in the country's population is one of the planned moves to open the nest of communal animosity. This campaign is not based on facts or figures. For years, the Sangh Parivar has been spreading the lie that Hindus will become a minority in the near future. RSS is using that weapon again.
Population growth is measured in relation to the "Total Fertility Rate" (TFR). The figures of the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5) 2019-21 released by the Ministry of Health of the Union Government indicate that the total fertility rate of the Muslim community has been decreasing compared to other religions in the country in the last twenty years.
According to the survey, the total fertility rate of Hindu and Muslim communities is 1.9 and 2.3 respectively. The difference is only 0.4. The total fertility rate of the Muslim community has declined from 2.6 in 2015-16 to 2.3 in 2019-21. In 1992-93 it was 4.4. In terms of fertility rate during the twenty years, there was a decrease of 41.2 percent in the Hindu community and 46.5 percent among the Muslims.
The target of Sangh Parivar's population lie is the upcoming elections. The secular community needs to recognize this dangerous move to gain electoral advantage by promoting hate politics.
