On their second day in Singapore, the Black & Yellows hit the training pitch for the first time: first at the Lion City Sailors training ground and then at the Jalan Besar Stadium, where the opening friendly of the tour takes place on Thursday. But there was no shortage of contact with the fans.

When the players arrived at the training ground of tomorrow's friendly opponents Lion City Sailors, a Black & Yellow presence was already there: a flag bearing the caption "My Club Borussia Dortmund" was hanging up at the training premises – put in place by BVB supporters, who had made a sporting start to the day themselves. Before the first team kicked a ball on the pitch, the Singapore BVB Fan Club went up against a Sailors Fan Club. The Black & Yellow fans might have ended up on the losing side, but that was of secondary importance, with the fun factor taking precedence and clear for all to see. The BVB coaching staff also watched the game and took time for the fans, before then taking control of proceedings on the pitch. With temperatures of 28 degrees and a high air humidity, the BVB players worked up a real sweat.

The session went to extra-time for Antonios Padadopoulos and Julian Rijkhoff, who took part in a Meet & Greet with supporters. "We're here to meet people. But we naturally also want to win our matches," said the U19 striker, adding: "We're looking forward to the game." In the afternoon, Alexander Meyer, Ole Pohlmann and Roman Weidenfeller visited the International School in Singapore, with the public training session at the Jalan Besar Stadium, Thursday's match venue, then taking place later on.

Numerous fans, many of them in BVB shirts, were in attendance to watch the team train. Before embarking upon another round of autographs and selfies, the team and fans – some of whom had travelled from Germany – posed for a big group photo. (cr)
