Jacqueline Jossa is said to be reeling after husband Dan Osborne's shock arrest threatened to overshadow her long-awaited EastEnders comeback.

The actress, 30, is set to return to Walford as Lauren Branning for Dot Branning's funeral in a special one-off episode in memory of June Brown, after a four-year spell away.

However, in the midst of her comeback, husband Dan, 31, was arrested after reportedly being involved in a bust-up following the star's "magical" birthday celebrations.

The former TOWIE star was arrested earlier this month after the alleged incident in which one reveller was said to have suffered a broken jaw following a "mass brawl".

After police were called to the couple’s home, Dan was taken away in cuffs before being held overnight on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent and assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH). He was released on bail the following day.

A spokesperson for Dan said he "felt provoked during the incident and is confident he will clear his name".

However, a source has since told OK! the whole situation has left Jacqueline feeling "upset and embarrassed".

A source close to the couple revealed she will stand by her man, but said the star is sad that her marriage is once again making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

"Jacqueline will feel embarrassed about the whole thing. They’ve been portraying such a great family unit and they’ve been in a really good place recently. There hasn’t been any drama for a long time, so for this to come out and overshadow her TV return isn’t ideal.

They continued: "Jacqueline gets upset by people’s opinions. She’s got a thick skin, but it’s hard not to be bothered about what people say sometimes."

Dan recently took to Instagram to share a loved-up snap of the couple from the night in question.

He gushed in the caption: "I love you," to which Jacqueline replied: "My goodness I love you!! Xxx."

Dan and Jacqueline have been married since 2017

Dan went on to share an image of their daughters Ella, seven, and Mia, four, alongside his son Teddy, eight. He captioned the pic: "My [world]."

The source added: "Dan has been trying to keep a low profile, but Jac is standing by him. The Instagram posts show they’re putting on a united front. They would rather it had stayed private, but they’re still strong."

The Mirror has contacted Dan and Jacqueline's representatives for comment.
