MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC launches in Nigeria, ushering a new era of mobile performance

In a virtual roundtable event held on December 15, the flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC made its official appearance in Nigeria.

On the 15th of December, the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC made an official appearance in the Nigerian market. This was marked by a virtual roundtable event with some key players from MediaTek in attendance as well as the Nigerian media.

The launch unveiled one of the flagship mobile processors from MediaTek to the Nigerian market. Rami Osman, Director for Corporate Sales and Marketing at MediaTek Middle East and Africa threw more light on this processor assuring that MediaTek “will be a game-changer for smartphone users in Nigeria.”

Features of the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC

The MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC is the world’s first smartphone chip to use the TSMC N4 4nm-class fabrication process. It also comes with great performance while maintaining efficiency. This mobile SoC is also the world’s first Arm Mali-G710 MC10 graphics processor.

For users, this means that the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 is capable of providing an immersive gaming experience. For non-gamers, the processor has something in store for everyone. With the MediaTek Imagiq 790 technology built into this processor, it supports 4K HDR video recording. Additionally, the Dimensity 9000 SoC also supports 18-bit HDR-ISP recording on up to three cameras simultaneously.

This is a 5G-enabled processor and also supports Wi-Fi 6E and the new Bluetooth 5.3 technology. Interestingly, this processor has been in use on various smartphones launched within the year. Its top variant, the Dimensity 9000+, powers the best-performing Android device on the AnTuTu benchmark ranking.

While the Dimensity 9000+ processor has been available in the global market for over a year, MediaTek just launched its successor, the Dimensity 9200 globally. But, the Nigerian market is yet to get an official feel of the abilities of the Dimensity 9000 processor. This is no longer the case since the just launched Tecno Phantom X2 series is bringing the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor to Nigeria.

Currently, the new device from Tecno using this processor is available on pre-order. We will talk more about the device series and its amazing features in another article. With the launch of this device, Nigerians will get a true feel of the Dimensity 9000 processing power. The MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC marks a new era of mobile performance here in Nigeria.
