Two teenagers were arrested after a security guard was left cut and bruised after he was attacked at an Asda store. The man was treated in hospital for injuries to his face and neck after he was targeted by two people at the entrance to the supermarket in Ashby Road, Coalville, police said.

The guard was treated in hospital after he was kicked multiple times, resulting in major swelling to both eyes, bruising, lumps, and cuts to his face and neck during the attack, which happened shortly before 5.30pm on Thursday, January 26 . A Leicestershire Police spokesperson said a 14-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm and have since been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Officers are now appealing for more information and witnesses to come forward, with anyone who may have seen the incident or recorded it with their phones being asked to get in touch. You can do this by contacting 101 or reporting information online via Leicestershire Police's website.
