Gary Lineker has praised new Leicester City winger Tete for his debut performance against Aston Villa this afternoon (Saturday).

Tete got himself on the scoresheet as City ran out 4-2 winners at Villa Park, earning themselves their first Premier League win of the calendar year.

Lineker posted on Twitter after the game, saying it "could easily" have ended in a 7-7 draw for the two teams. In typical Lineker fashion, he showed off his pun game, saying Tete (French for 'head') was "head and shoulders the best player" on the pitch.

He tweeted: "Cracking end-to-end game at Villa Park. @LCFC won but could easily have finished 7-7. New signing, Tete, head and shoulders the best player."

LeicestershireLive's Jordan Blackwell scored Tete eight out of 10 in his post-player player ratings, writing: "Those Brazil flags will be flying all season if this is anything to go by. The new winger was electric. He carries the ball with such speed that full-backs can’t stop him, while his close control is exceptional. His darting run and dribble around Martinez capped a memorable debut."
