Don’t vote politicians that keep you in darkness for ages – Abariukwu

The All Progressive Grand Alliance’s (APGA) candidate for House of Representatives Ikwuano Umuahia federal constituency, Engineer Ogbonna Abarikwu, has called on voters from his constituency to shun politicians that kept them into perpetual darkness only to lobby them with emergency empowerment during electioneering. 

He urged Ikwuano Umuahia people to vote only candidates with the fear of God, adding that it would be the only way the dividends of democracy that have eluded the people over these years in the hands of past representatives would be restored to them.

The APGA Ikwuano Umuahia federal constituency candidate made this declaration during the flag off ceremony of his campaign train at Ikwuano, Umuahia South and Umuahia North LGA’S respectively.

The American-based Civil Engineer of many years standing, said that those politicians donating transformers, empowerment items and money during this electioneering periods were the same people that have kept them in perpetual darkness over the years. 

He said they were now coming up with those Greek gifts to induce voters for support, urging the electorate to reject such unconscionable politicians because they did not mean well for the electorate.

According to the United States-based Nigerian born Engineer turned politician, “if they give you overnight transformer while they have kept you in darkness all these years, take it, the money is from  the people’s common patrimony and vote them out in the election day.”

Engr Ogbonna Abarikwu pointed out that having been brought up from a decent godly family at  Okweyi Ibeku North and having also  lived in America for the past 42 years now and seen how things are done properly, he decided to throw his hat into the ring in order to replicate such laudable policies he learnt in the foreign land.

“On February 25th, 2023, when you come out to vote, be wise and vote for candidates that will restore hope, infrastructural deficits, deplorable of roads, denial of dividends of democracy all these years PDP government has been in power in Abia state,” Abarikwu charged.

He promised to be visiting the LGAs under his watch every four months for townhall meetings to ascertain their problems and not every four years.

The APGA Ikwuano Umuahia federal constituency candidate pointed out that even though he had lived for 42 years in USA, he visited home thrice in a year therefore was conversant with the yearnings of his people.

“Look at me, I came to the campaign rally without any security because I have not committed any crime that will make me to be afraid of my people. If you vote for me, I will change my phone number if elected or close my gates against you voters that gave me the mandate,” Abarikwu assured.

Abarikwu who thrilled the people with his scintillating dancing steps at Ndioro Oboro in Ikwuano, Ubakala in Umuahia South and Ohobe Afara in Umuahia North with message of hope promised to make accountability his watchword if elected.

Earlier, the Director General of Engineer Ogbonna Abarikwu Campaign Council, Comrade Osondu Anemelechi, and Head of Media, Hon Okezie Uwakwe, called on the people of Ikwuano Umuahia federal constituency to throw their full weight behind the APGA candidate, pledging that he would not disappoint the people.

Meanwhile, Sir Denis Chikodi, Chief Obioma Uluocha and Sir Vincent Obike ,who spoke for the three local government areas of Ikwuano, Umuahia South and Umuahia North LGA’s said that Engr Ogbonna Abarikwu has the capacity and competence to run for the gubernatorial ticket.

According to them, this was premised on his intimidating towering academic credentials, work experiences and achievements in far away United States of America but was prevailed upon to test the political waters of Nigeria starting from House of Representatives.

They unanimously agreed that he would surely deliver if given the mandate.
