Overall champion made it a magnificent seven out of seven wins in Oslo on his return from a week off due to covid. Boe finished 23.9 seconds clear of Martin Ponsiluoma of Sweden in second and Germany's Benedikt Doll in third, with the 29-year-old's superior ski speed making the difference between the trio.

Boe wins Oslo Sprint to cap perfect season in biathlon

Johannes Thingnes Boe showed no ill effects from his week off as he notched yet another World Cup success with victory in the sprint in Oslo.
"It was a mental fight to aim for one more," Boe said. "I really wanted to try and then Covid came and set me a little bit back. It did not look like that today. I felt good and I am just glad it worked out and I am able to race the final races.”
In the final week of the season, Boe bounced back from missing last week in Oestersund with Covid to cruise to the win despite a miss on the standing shoot.
His superior ski speed made the difference though, with Boe finishing 23.9 seconds clear of Martin Ponsiluoma of Sweden in second, while Germany's Benedikt Doll took third.
The win was Boe's 14th of the season, in addition to his three victories at the World Championships, and he will now be in a good position to add yet another win to his collection in Saturday's pursuit, before the season draws to a close with the mass start on Sunday.
Boe had already wrapped up both the sprint and overall crystal globes, and this completed a perfect season in the discipline with seven wins from seven, as well as the World Championship title.
