Aaron McKenna maintained his unbeaten record as he defeated Jordan Grant on points in their super middleweight bout at the Manchester Arena on Saturday.
The Monaghan fighter moved to 16-0 (nine kos) against Scottish opponent Grant, who was a late replacement for Namibian Lukas Ndafoluma.
McKenna took a couple of rounds to fully hit his stride but he was totally in control thereafter.
He pummeled Grant with powerful body shots, draining him with an intensity that barely let up.
Grant hung tough, survivng the full six rounds, but McKenna got the nod on points, 60-54, and can look forward to tougher future tests.
