Phil Vickery wants ‘new Wasps side’ to return to London

Social media forums are abuzz with questions from Wasps fans about the current state of affairs.

Has a stadium been secured? The former European champions had their eyes on the former Worcester Warriors ground at Sixways, but it seems that ownership wrangles in Worcester have put that option on hold.

Despite the possibility of still assembling a team of players and coaches, there has been little communication, leaving fans in the dark.

Below we look at five possible homes, including the choice of former player Phil Vickery, who is part of the clubs ownership group.

Wasps five-city shortlist:

#1. London

Former Wasps prop Phil Vickery believes the club must leave Coventry and return to London.

He is part of a consortium of former Wasps players trying to buy the men’s team and the academy.

“To see Wasps come back to London would be awesome,” Vickery told Sky Sports News.

“I associate Wasps with London, but it’s easier said than done. They’ve tried for years to get the opportunity to do that.

“Yes, it would be brilliant – but let’s focus on getting the club up and running.”
