Marcel Sabitzer is hoping to join Manchester United on a permanent basis in the summer transfer window when his loan deal comes to an end.
That’s according to Sport 1 journalist Kerry Hau, relayed by FCB Inside, who says there are ‘growing signs’ that the midfielder will be ending his time at Bayern Munich.
He reports that Sabitzer, who joined Manchester United on loan in January as a replacement for the injured Christian Eriksen, ‘does not want’ to return to Bayern once his loan deal comes to an end.
Instead he ‘hopes’ for a permanent transfer to Old Trafford, despite the fact that they do no have an option to sign him in his loan deal.
Sabitzer feels ‘very comfortable’ at Manchester United and gets on well with manager Erik ten Hag so would like to continue. Even Thomas Tuchel’s arrival at Bayern has not changed his thinking.
He no longer sees his future there following his departure in January and it is an open secret that Bayern aren’t blocking a departure either. A fee of €15-20m would be enough for them to do a deal and they have already signed Konrad Laimer as a replacement.
Sabitzer would like to stay at Manchester United and hopes they move but if this isn’t possible he would be ‘willing to switch to another Premier League club’.
Whether the option is there remains to be seen but he wants a move to England regardless if he can get it.
