This week and next are clearly a little different due to bank holidays and local elections, so I’m covering the fortnight ahead in this update.

After a weekend of meeting constituents on doorsteps (and celebrating the Blades’ promotion at Bramall Lane), I’m heading to Westminster today for a meeting of the Health and Social Care Select Committee at which we’ll be questioning the Minister responsible for adult social care. You can keep up to date with all the business of the committee here.

I’ll be back in Sheffield tomorrow for the final stages of the City Council elections and I’ll be at the count for much of Friday. On Sunday I’ll be joining a service to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III at Sheffield Cathedral.

After Monday’s bank holiday I’ll be joining the civic event at which my predecessor as MP for Sheffield Central Richard Caborn will receive Freedom of the City before going down to Parliament. I’ll be chairing the AGM of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Students on Wednesday at which we’ll elect Officers and discuss our work over the next year.

Also next week I hope to be meeting with representatives from King Edward VII School, attending an event with Diabetes UK and meeting with Baton of Hope, a suicide prevention charity – as well as joining the next meeting of the UK Trade and Business Commission on trade deals in practice which you can read more about here.

I’ll be posting the next preview of my week ahead on Monday 15th May.
