Tori Bowie held the record at Doha's Diamond League track until Friday, when it was claimed by fellow American sprinter, Sha'Carri Richardson. Bowie died earlier in the week, and after the race Richardson focused on the positives of the win, having missed out on the Tokyo Olympics because of a failed drugs test for marijuana. Britain's Dina Asher-Smith was third.

USA's Sha'Carri Richardson beat the late Tori Bowie's 100m record at Doha in the Diamond League as Dina Asher-Smith claimed third place.
Earlier in the week Bowie, a three-time Olympic medal winner and a 100m world champion, was found dead aged 32.
Richardson recorded a time of 10.76 seconds, the fastest of the year so far. Second place went to Jamaica’s Sherick Jackson, with British sprinter Asher-Smith third.
"I’m so blessed and thankful, I feel at peace,” Richardson said after the race, and referenced her failure to compete at the Olympics last year in Tokyo.
"I had to be kicked out from another 100m race, so I had to do my best no matter what.”
The sprinters at the race also included two prominent Americans, 2022 US champion Melissa Jefferson, and TeeTee Terry, making it one of the most competitive races so far in the season.
Richardson is aiming to qualify for this summer’s key events, the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships in July, with the World Championships to come in August.
She is yet to compete at any global competition, having missed the Olympics.
