Kavisha Dilhari produced a Player of the Match all-round performance claiming 2 for 11 and stroking an unbeaten 20 as the Sri Lanka Women came back strongly to trounce Bangladesh Women by 7 wickets in the second T20 to draw level in the 3-match series at the SSC Grounds on Thursday. It left the series in suspense with the two sides set to clash in the crunch decider the following day.
The Lankan lasses dominated all the way clearing the 101 target for the loss of 3 wickets having bowled out the Bangladeshis for 100 in 18.3overs. Skipper Chamari Athapaththu was spot on with the bat hammering 33 off 27 balls, 30 of which came in brute force of 6 boundaries and a six. She put on 43 for the first wicket with Vishmi Gunaratne 17 as the hosts reached 68 for 3 in 11.5. The inform No.3 Harshitha Samarawickrama applied the finishing touches with a watchful unbeaten 29 off 42 content with a solitary boundary with Kavisha Dilhari at the other end on 20.
The Bangladesh Women, in a reversal of their batting show in the first game, came a cropper a concentrated Lankan attack with Inoka Ranaweera, Sugandika Kumari and Udeshika Prabhodini completing a foursome 2-wicket act along with Dilhari.
