Mudryk’s video posted to social media has caused controversy
Mykhailo Mudryk has been criticised after he posted a video of an elderly man working out in a gym.
The Ukraine international has been called out after he appeared to mock the man in a post on Tuesday. In the video, Mudryk filmed the man on the rowing machine – blurring part of his body out – while including a question mark alongside him on an Instagram story.
Social media star Joey Swoll, who refers to himself as the ‘CEO of Gym Positivity’ on Twitter, was one of those to call out the winger for his story.
He tweeted: “So you see that man at the gym working hard, trying to better himself with the trainer. He is in an embarrassing situation, where, yes, he is a little exposed.
“But you decide to take a video of them to post on social media – all for attention. Really? What the f*** is wrong with you? You’re a professional soccer player, you play for Chelsea in the Premier League, is this how you want to represent yourself and your team?”
Mudryk has struggled for form since making the £87m move to Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk in January and has yet register a goal in any of his 16 appearances.
After making a bright start in his debut against Liverpool in January, Mudryk has lost his place in the starting XI and was on the bench for Chelsea against Manchester City last weekend.
Chelsea finish their dismal Premier League campaign with a home game against Newcastle United on Sunday.
