Pluto TV will launch OUTtv Proud channel during Pride Month

June marks the 53rd annual Pride Month, and Pluto TV is doubling down on LGBTQ+ content with the launch of a new channel, OUTtv Proud. And according to the announcement, that will entail a lot of RuPaul’s Drag Race marathons. The regular edition of RuPaul’s Drag Race will be featured on Logo Pluto TV every Monday through Thursday from 6 p.m. ET to 1 a.m. ET. Logo Pluto TV will also have marathons of the spinoff series, RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars, from Monday to Thursday during the hours of 3 p.m. ET to 6 p.m. ET, and again on Saturdays from 2 p.m. ET to 2 a.m. ET.

But Pride Month can not rest on RuPaul alone. That’s why Logo Pluto TV will also run marathons of Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce every Friday of the month from 8 p.m. ET to 2 a.m. ET. Additionally, Pluto TV’s Vevo channels will throw the spotlight on LGBTQ+ musical artists and queer-friendly music acts including Blondie, David Bowie, Freddie Mercury & Queen, Cyndi Lauper, Culture Club & Boy George, Muna, Omar Apollo, Kany García, Maria Becerra, and Ricky Martin.

The Pride Month celebration will also extend to Pluto TV’s movie channels. The Birdcage, In & Out, But I’m a Cheerleader, Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Kinky Boots, I Love You Phillip Morris, and Broken Hearts Club will be featured on Pluto TV Comedy. Pluto TV Love Stories has Date and Switch and The Wedding Banquet, with encore showings of In & Out and But I’m a Cheerleader. Many of these titles will also run on Cine Premiere.

This month, Pluto TV is also celebrating National Game Show Day by launching channels dedicated to The Price is Right: Drew Carey and Family Feud Classics. Nickelodeon’s teenage comedies iCarly, VICTORiOUS, and Sam & Cat will also have a new home on the Totally Teen channel.

On June 5, Pluto TV will also launch a new animated series called Shaq’s Garage. It’s a comedic fantasy that features Shaquille O’Neal and his Shaq Pack, a collection of cars that have come to life with the magic of AI. It’s not Shaq’s first animated role, and it probably won’t be his last.

5 great LGBTQ movies & TV shows for teens
Nick and Charlie embrace in Heartstopper.

Pride Month is upon us, and with it comes a surprising amount of LGBTQ content. From RuPaul's Drag Race to cultural sensations like Heartstopper and Young Royals to upcoming shows and movies like First Kill, Anything's Possible, Fire Island, and My Fake Boyfriend, June beings multiple projects to celebrate the LGBTQ community.

Teenagers also have more options than ever, not only from recent offerings, but also films and shows from the early 2000s and even the '90s. Hopefully, these stories will comfort teens still struggling with their sexuality, letting them know that they aren't alone. Millions of teenagers around the world deal with their sexualities in their own time, at their own pace, and these shows and movies do a perfect job in capturing the LGBTQ experience in those early and hectic years.

The visually impaired can now watch Comcast TV channels on VR goggles

For years, those who are blind, or legally blind because of visual impairment, have relied on described video soundtracks while watching TV. Now, thanks to a partnership between Comcast and a company called NuEyes, another option exists. Comcast's Xfinity Stream app now comes preinstalled on the NuEyes e2, an AR/VR magnifying device that enhances the usable vision of a person who is visually impaired. It looks like Google's now-defunct Daydream VR goggles, but it's an all-in-one device that doesn't require the use of a smartphone.

Conditions such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinitis pigmentosa can all contribute to serious vision impairment. “Being blind since birth, I know firsthand the power of technology to enhance independence,” Comcast vice president of accessibility Tom Wlodkowski said in a press release. “Our partnership with NuEyes is an extension of our commitment to designing great entertainment experiences for people of all abilities.”

We need to stop taking Guy Ritchie for granted
Guy Ritchie looks at a monitor on set of The Gentlemen.

Few directors have had a more prolific past five years than Guy Ritchie. The filmmaker, once known best for his late 1990s/early 2000s British gangster movies, has fully completed his transition from scrappy upstart to reliable studio director. He began that journey in the late 2000s and continued it throughout the 2010s when he agreed to direct films like Sherlock Holmes, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, and — in one of the strangest creative decisions in Hollywood history — Disney's live-action Aladdin. There were multiyear gaps between a few of those movies, though, and all four of his 2010s titles (including 2015's The Man from U.N.C.L.E.) were connected, in some form or another, to a preexisting piece of intellectual property.

This decade, Ritchie's already released five movies: The Gentlemen, Wrath of Man, Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, The Covenant, and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. On top of that, he's already made a sixth (2025's In the Grey) and written and directed multiple episodes of The Gentlemen, a Netflix series he created based on his 2019 film of the same name. After spending 10 years floating through the world of high-budget IP filmmaking, Ritchie has turned himself into his own industry that produces at least one action movie a year.
