A MetroNet employee was working on high-voltage lines when things turned especially dangerous Wednesday morning.

Sixth, Madison and Shawnee avenues were temporarily closed around 9 a.m. Wednesday while officials rescued a worker whose ladder slipped into some nondeadly voltage lines, according to the Des Moines Fire Department.

The worker was brought down and did not need medical attention. The roadway has since been reopened.
