The Edo State Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Humanitarian Affairs, Eire Ifueko Alufohai has commended 17 women who emerged winners in the bicycle race to commemorate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Benin City.

Addressing the bicycle riders at the State Secretariat building, along Sapele Road, Alufohai who is the SDGs focal person for Edo State, said the riders represented the 17 goals.

According to Eire, “The riders are all winners for taking the initiative to take part in the bicycle race organized to highlight the sustainable goals.”

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals are: No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Clean Water and Sanitation, Affordable and Clean Energy, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Industry Innovation and Infrastructure, and Reduced Inequalities.

The Bicycle race was organized by the Echoes of Women in Africa Initiative, with support from ZOVU and Action for Sustainable Development (A4SD)

The Executive Director, Echoes of Women in Africa Initiative, Mrs. Louisa Ono Eikhomu, joined other women during the bicycle race that took place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.
