Sources: Tottenham progressing well in talks to sign versatile player who is ‘great fun’ to watch

EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey

Tottenham Hotspur are progressing well with their talks over Norwegian starlet Antonio Nusa from Club Brugge, HITC understands.

Sources with knowledge of the situation have told HITC that Spurs are ‘happy’ with how things are progressing and overall agreement is ‘not far away’.

The 18-year-old is a highly-rated figure at the Belgian Pro League side and has been dubbed as a ‘nightmare’ for defenders and ‘great fun’ to watch by those who follow him closely.

Sources have also told HITC that Antonio Nusa is happy with the prospect of joining Tottenham in the summer and is ready to commit to the North London giants.

Antonio Nusa under Ange Postecoglou

If this possible deal goes through, then Spurs fans should and will be licking their lips because this will only further elevate their forward line.

Ange Postecoglou hasn’t even been at the club for a year, yet the team is playing one of the best brands of football in the Premier League and the attacking players are shining like no other.

From the rejuvenated Richarlison to summer signing James Maddison, this Spurs attack is full of speed, quick-thinking, movement, skill and creativity.

Adding in Nusa will just bring more flair, dynamism and bums off seats.

Plus, from the perspective of the player, there is every chance that he joins a team that will be in the Champions League next season and a manager who is improving individual players left, right and centre.

Spurs are currently sitting fifth in the Premier League table – a position that could become available for the Champions League next season – and are also three points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa.

Tottenham’s recruitment

In previous times, the recruitment at Spurs has taken verbal hits from the supporters, but that can’t be the case now.

The team is fairing far better, and going back to the now-departed Fabio Paratici, their business has been outstanding.

So, someone like Nusa should look at that with a smile on his face because it proves that the next part of his career can be a success at Hotspur Way.
