Minister’s aide gets Imperial College Alumni award

Imperial College, London, Alumni Association of Nigeria (ICAAN), has given Mr. Odiong Ekanem, Technical assistant to Minister of Sate Petroleum Resources (Gas), an Award of Recognition for Exemplary Leadership in Public Service.

 At the event in Lagos, yesterday, Chairman of the alumni’s Board of Trustees (BoT), Dr. Edet Amana, thanked the alumni for remaining good ambassadors of the school.

 He lauded them for their passion, commitment and dedication to growth of the Nigerian oil and gas sector and society as evidenced by appointment of four of its alumni into top government positions.

 Amana encouraged the awardees, including Ogun State deputy governor; executive vice chairman of NCC; group chief executive officer of Royal Exchange Group; pioneer executive commissioner at NUPRC, to continue to uphold the humility and hard work Imperial College instils in its alumni.

Ekanem thanked the association, saying: “I am humbled by this recognition and award; I never knew my contributions were being observed and it challenges me to do more for my organisation and this country that has invested so much in me,” he sai
