Sevilla FC Femenino continue breaking their own records. After another fantastic win last Sunday against SD Eibar, they set their highest points tally at the midway point of the league since the Argentine took charge of the team during the 2018/2019 season. Since his first match against Madrid CFF, 1872 days ago in December 2018, this campaign marks his side's best first half of the season in terms of position, points, goals scored and number of victories.

Currently, we sit in sixth place in Liga F on 28 points, with 32 goals for and 26 against, registering nine victories, one draw and five defeats. These numbers are similar to those of the 2020/21 season when Toro's team racked up 23 points after 17 games, back when the league consisted of only 18 teams.

The aim for the second half of the season: keep taking things day by day, one game at a time

The 2019/20 season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but by the midway point the team amassed 14 points from four wins, two draws and eight defeats, scoring 20 goals and conceding 24. That positioned us in 10th place, just as we were at the same stage of the 2021/22 season, as well as 2022/23. In the former, they reached 18 points after four wins, six draws and five losses, scoring 15 times and conceding 23; meanwhile, the tally was 16 points from four victories, four draws and seven defeats, scoring 24 and letting in 29 goals at this point last season.

Looking to build on this great start, we travel to face Madrid CFF, hoping to prove how much the team has improved since our meeting over five years ago. We have all the signs of a project that is going from strength to strength, and must continue to show courage and ambition in each match going forward.
