We continue to strengthen our relationship with Gangwon FC after the President of the Korean club, Kim Byung-ji, and CEO, Kim Tae Joo, made an official visit last weekend in which they were able to learn more about the club and our internationalisation plans.

"We believe that this collaboration with Sevilla FC, which has lots of experience in the industry, will be an important step to improve the management and philosophy of our own club," explained the head of the Korean club Our own President, José María del Nido Carrasco, welcome both representatives of the Korean club in the President's box at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán and presented them with a shirt signed by the players. Also, they attended our LaLiga match against Osasuna where they enjoyed a formal meal and met some of our players including Sergio Ramos.

Our President added "It is an honor to be able to work hand in hand with Gangwon FC. I am sure that this agreement will allow us to grow both clubs who share a commitment to growth based on technological development and youth players. We are talking about a club, Sevilla FC, who are a technological leader in the world of sport, and a country, South Korea, which is a world leader in innovation and digital technology. This is a decisive step in our internationalisation Plan."

"The most important thing has been that we have been able to learn about the vision that the club has for its new projects such as scouting international players, developing different areas of the club and I have come away feeling good and with some ideas to implement for Gangwon FC's future," Kim Byung-ji said. Both Korean leaders also had work meetings at the training ground where they learned about the day-to-day operations of the club and also the facilities.

"Sevilla FC have more than 100 years of history and have achieved great things such as their seven Europa League trophies. They have followed a long journey of progress in different aspects such as player development and the management of the club. We hope that Gangwon FC can also follow a similar path and that our employees can learn a lot by visiting Sevilla FC in the future," said the president, who was a professional goalkeeper and represented South Korea at the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Gangwon FC were founded in 2008 and are a club that represents the province of Gangwon. Our objective is to grow and help build community spirit and we hope to be able to improve in player development with Sevilla FC and our young players can exploit their potential thanks to this collaboration."

Our visit during pre-season in 2022 left its mark on Korean football, so much so that they consider it was a turning point when it came to attracting new clubs to their country to hold this type of tour: "The impression that fans in Korea have about Sevilla FC is that is a historic, renowned club. Sevilla FC made a big impact in Korea on their tour two years ago, and that made other clubs visit Korea. We hope that something similar can be repeated in the future."
