Alasdair Gold shares what he’s heard about Manor Solomon’s injury after Tottenham winger’s surgery yesterday

Tottenham Hotspur journalist Alasdair Gold has now been sharing some insight into what he’s heard about Manor Solomon’s injury recovery.

Spurs shared a statement today confirming that Solomon has undergone minor surgery to his meniscus on his right knee yesterday given he wasn’t making progress in his recovery.

Solomon arrived in north London with a lot of expectation this season, having impressed on his debut season in the Premier League with Fulham.

The Israel international scored five goals in 24 games for Spurs’ London neighbours, and whilst those aren’t exactly numbers to write home about, they were most impressive strikes from the bench.

Solomon looked to have the skillset to really succeed under Ange Postecoglou, the perfect profile for the new manager.

However, having played just six games and 280 minutes for his new club, Solomon suffered a knee injury at the end of September.

And having not been in a Tottenham shirt since, Solomon’s injury recovery certainly hasn’t appeared straight forward.

With that in mind, Alasdair Gold has now shared what he’s been hearing over on X.

Alasdair Gold says Tottenham’s Manor Solomon likely to wait until next season for injury return

Sharing his insight, Gold says there’s a chance Solomon could be back in training before the season ends, but won’t be fast-tracked.

He said: “Understand there’s a chance Manor Solomon could be back training just before the season ends after minor meniscus surgery on his right knee yesterday, but there’s no rush for him to be back for this campaign with the club looking for him to be fully fit and ready for pre-season.”

It is a big shame that Solomon hasn’t been able to effectively contribute this season.

And it’s interesting to consider whether a player like Timo Werner would have actually been signed on loan in January if Solomon wasn’t going to be missing for so long.

At 24-years-old, Solomon still seems to have a lot of potential, and perhaps represents a very similar profile to Werner.

And if Tottenham do sign the German permanently it would seem to block the path for Solomon to play significant minutes once he is fully fit.

But either way, Tottenham fans probably will just be pleased to hear Gold’s update that Solomon’s injury recovery should now be successful, given the amount of time it will be afforded.

All that being said, James Maddison did recently send a supportive message to his teammate.
