Nigeria’s Super Eagles beat bitter rivals Black Stars of Ghana 2-1 in an international friendly game in Marrakech, Morocco on Friday.

Cyriel Dessers and substitute Ademola Lookman got the Super Eagles goals to help George Finidi record his first win as Super Eagles interim coach.

The Black Stars goal was scored by Jordan Ayew from the penalty spot deep into stoppage time.

It was not the best of return for Otto Addo who was re-appointed as Black Stars head coach.

The result means the Black Stars are now winless in their last six games – three defeats, three draws.

The Black Stars had to play most of the second half with 10 men after Jerome Opoku was shown a straight red card.

The Super Eagles created most of the scoring chances but were undone by good goalkeeping by Ghana goalkeeping and also some poor finishing.

However, all that changed when Dessers converted from the penalty spot on 38 minutes, after a Black Stars player handled the ball inside the box.

In the 56th minute the Black Stars were reduced to 10 men after Opoku was shown a straight red.

The Eagles then went on to double their lead on 84 minutes through Lookman.

Ayew pulled a goal back for Ghana from the penalty spot in the 95th minute.

The goal was too little too late as the Eagles held on to secure the win.
